The MPN Poker Tour will be back at Battle of Malta again this year with a major presence and hundreds of qualifiers, as well as its own scheduled side event.
There were 270 MPN qualifiers at last year’s Battle of Malta with three making the final table: Grosvenor Poker ambassador Andy Hills, Mateusz Moolhuizen – who won his package by topping the MPN Universal Championship of Poker (UCOP) leaderboard and UCOP champion Mantas Urbonas who finished fourth in Malta for €121,500.
MPN will be running numerous online satellites this year with buy-ins starting from just €1.50. The satellites kick off on July 15 with players able to compete for full prize packages worth €1,500 or €555 Main Event seats. Sites will include 32red, Paf, One Time Poker, Betsson, Guts, Betsafe, NordicBet, Olybet and Redstar Poker. There will be €75 rebuy package finals every Wednesday and €200 freezeouts on Sundays. The seat-only satellites will include a €33 rebuy on Thursdays and €75 freezeout on Sundays.
The €1,500 packages will include a host of benefits including entry into both the €1,000,000 guaranteed Battle of Malta Main Event and the €150 “MPNPT Battle” as well as five nights’ accommodation at the 4-star Holiday Inn Express for qualifier and guest. The package also includes an invite to the exclusive MPNPT Players Welcome Party along with access to the VIP areas at both the tournament venue and the main Battle of Malta party.
MPNPT @ Battle of Malta Last Longer
All MPN qualifiers will also be automatically entered into the “MPNPT @ Battle of Malta” Last longer competition. The three highest-placed finishers in the Main Event will each win an MPNPT package for next season worth €1,500.
Malta will be the MPN Poker Tour’s fourth and final stop of 2019. This year’s tour kicked off in Tallinn in January before visiting Prague in May. Next month, the MPNPT is heading to London in July where the tour will be celebrating its fifth anniversary.
MPN Poker Tour Manager Richard Cunningham said: “Battle of Malta is the only festival we partner and we’re very excited to be coming back again this year. Last year we had 270 qualifiers – and a total of 510 MPN players competing if you also include our qualifiers’ guests.
“After the huge success of the 2018 event, we’re expecting a massive turnout this year. There will be lots of guaranteed packages in our satellite finals, so it’s ideal for players seeking a relatively cheap way to win their Battle of Malta main event entry or a complete €1,500 package. Our live events team will also make sure all our players have a brilliant time once they get to Malta.
“The MPN Poker Tour is going from strength to strength and we already have some great destinations lined up for 2020 including a couple of venues we’ve never visited before – so next year will be very exciting!”
